Just spoke with Deuce, and he is not going North this weekend. Illinois is off his list. Potentially HUGE news for the Cats.
It is now down to Boston College and UK with a decision coming “this week.”
And then there were two…

im all about getting the kentucky boys, but dont you think that if Deuce commits it will hurt our chances of getting this guy http://kentucky.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=83485

#5 - You take whoever commits first. They are virtually the exact same height & weight. Russell is ranked a few spots higher, but they actually have the same ranking score, so in effect, you could say they are tied. Finch actually had over 600 more yards than Russell and had a better per carry average, so you could make just as good a case to say you would actually prefer him.

My cousin is a St. X alum and he played DE at Boston College. Any idea if BC has connections to St. X and/or the coaching staff? I guess it could just be that they are both Catholic institutions, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go to BC.

#6. The kid is interested in joining Mossakowski but no offer has been made to him.

#8 - There was Mettling and Sheehan off the top of my head, but no ‘connection’ I know of. I did talk to the AD and he said that Deuce was really high on BC, so this will come down to the wire.

#8 - could that cousin be a d. zepp by chance?

SURELY BC being in a coach transition gives us the upper hand. And also the fact that the ACC is laughable.

Well I hope we get him for no other reason than to make sure we have a RB coming in that is good enough to make an impact as a frosh because the opportunities will be there. From the films I’ve seen I think Russell is better, but I’m no scout by any means (I bet a guy 50 bucks a couple years ago that Adam Morrison would be the NBA rookie of the year, so…). I would be thrilled to get Finch, especially since I didn’t think we had a shot at him a month ago.

Great news!

Ill be honest, I dont know why we are getting so worked up over this kid(outside of the fact he has some other good schools looking at him)…He isnt even the best rb on his team.

drewky– I brought that very point up a few weeks ago. I am not sure that a kid would go to a school that just fired their coach for talking to someone else. They warned him and then followed through. I don’t believe they have hired a new coach as of yet, have they? With him scratching the Fighting Zookers off of his list, the edge has to be with UK.

Wouldnt one think since Boston College has a head coach now, it might make him shy away from there? I really hope we land him. Keeping good instate talent is what will help this team to build. Hopefully with another good season next year, or better I should say, we can start keeping the Justin Green’s of ky. I am really hyped about the direction the basketball and football teams are headed. But when you think about it, it’s just those two sports. The girls team is doing well, the baseball team is top 25, the volleyball team only lost 4 or 5 regular season matches. I believe Mitch Barnhart really was the right man for the job. Gotta love what’s goin on with UK athletics.

I’ve seen deuce play a lot during his career and to tell you the truth he is a system RB. Anyone who watches Saint X play knows that all Glaser knows to do is run, run, run. Also, Deuce is classified as a “power runner” and he’s only 205 pounds and runs a 4.5 forty. He’s also VERY prone to injury. I think it’s a tough call when predicting his college potential. If he went to BC it really wouldn’t be that bad of a loss for UK.

#10 - Mettling is my cousin.
