  1. philmckracken Says:

WOW. That came out of left field

  2. ukmoxie Says:

    good deal

  3. catinlvls3rdGradeTeacher Says:

    Damn Matt you rock! Thanks

  4. soup Says:

DD in the DD motion??? Aight.

  5. tsevans28 Says:

is he better than nolan dennis

  6. tsevans28 Says:

and why can we get any post player we want and no point guards

  7. IcemanG2 Says:

6 - I don’t think you realize that if we have 4 guys on the floor who can handle the rock, you don’t need a traditional PG like you typically see … each gets his turn to take his man off the dribble, and if he can’t, he passes off to the next guy for his shot at it.

  8. ibleedblueforUK Says:

Yay! How fun is it to follow recruiting now with Cal at the helm? Giggity Giggity

  9. Big Blue Cali-Zone Says:

I know zero about this kid, but I know all about our Recruiter. Welcome to the Bluegrass Big Guy?

Matt, give us the whole poop and nothing but the poop on this kid.

  10. IcemanG2 Says:

6 - that said, watch … 2010, Cal will hope a top 5 PG, without question.

  11. MGH Says:

MAN, that was quick! Lose one, gain another. Awesome recovery.

  12. gossie21 Says:

    6. Memphis didn’t have a point guard this past year. Tyreke was played out of position at the 1 and things worked out pretty well I would say.

That being said, we need John Wall in order to go from a sweet-16 team to a potential final-4 team.

  13. tsevans28 Says:

it takes real pg to win a NC. just look at the past winners, there is no shooting guard filling in for a pg.

  14. Chris in Louisville Says:

    http://memphistigersblog.com/2008/10/06/darnell-dodson-will-be-a-tiger  /

Some flattering words on the kid from when he signed with Memphis. An under-rated scorer from anywhere on the court in the evaluators eyes.

  15. UKfaninAlabama Says:

No Worries guys. We will get either Wall or Bledsoe…if not both, which I think we might.

  16. yen Says:

this is bad news for Ramon Harris and his growing fanbase.

  17. blitzmr2 Says:

    http://memphisroar.com/2009/03/darnell-dodson-i-want-to-win-a-national -championship/#more-1118

  18. tsevans28 Says:

if we don’t get wall or bledsoe it will be turnover city.

  19. jreeves5319 Says:

Did the Orton and Henry post just get deleted?

  20. Biggass Hungguy Says:

Breaking news, with the word ‘likely’ in the subject line?

Doesnt sound like news to me, more like an educated guess.

  21. Matt Jones Says:

    “Likely” has just been deleted

  22. birdman Says:

14- Thanks for the article, that makes me feel a lot better about this kid.
16- Haha yeah Ramon could be this year’s Dwight Perry if this keeps up, which is a great improvement from last year. Wonder if this guy will take some of Miller’s minutes too?
One has to believe that if we can lock up Bledsoe or Wall this team has made a complete transformation from just one year ago. At least things are exciting again!!

  23. gobigblue32 Says:

So this is a kid who was D-1 talent that just didn’t make it in? From what I read that is it. So is he going to qualify from us now?

  24. tsevans28 Says:

if he signs in the next two days, somebody will have to leave or pay their own way in the next two days. who will it be?

  25. Chris in Louisville Says:

Don’t you love it when people nit-pick free insider info? If you want it when it’s solid, wait till he signs and get it from UKathletics. OTW, don’t blast the heads up for syntax.

  26. tsevans28 Says:

ramon harris should only get mop up duty, which i hope there will be alot of this year.

  27. jreeves5319 Says:

I posted the Henry’s home number in the comments section and it’s gone now…

    Guess that was a no-no…

Surely no one would use it.

As I was saying in that same section…

I would love to send this link to the Henry family…

    http://uponfurtherreview.kansascity.com/?q=node/924

Tipton would be the only KY reporter that would sabotage UK’s pursuit of a blue chip recruit like that…and I have my doubts that he would go as far this guy has.

  28. Gogh Big Bleu Says:

    Harrelson, Stewart, Williams… all 3

  29. tsevans28 Says:

i love getting new players, even if they are not blue-chips. and i also hope we will get to see the new uniforms in the coming weeks.

  30. Chris in Louisville Says:

24 - I don’t understand the two days. Why wouldn’t they have longer to sort that out? Teams have more players signed than spots all the time when seniors haven’t left yet.

  31. UKfan215 Says:

This kid this past season averaged 29 PPG, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 2.6 steals, had a field goal percentage of 51% and shot 43% from 3 point range. JUCO or not, those are the numbers of a stud. If we can’t have Henry, this guy will make one hell of a substitute.

  32. bower44 Says:

Bye Mr, Harris..You have you chance and didnt get it done

  33. tsevans28 Says:

did anyone else like the style of jordan all-american game jerseys? add a little uk color and i think they would look sweet.

  34. dcsports Says:

dude looks like Ramel Bradley’s big brother….from now on I say you post the news but just use pictures of random hot chicks…

  35. tsevans28 Says:

30- i was meaning that i hope we find out soon.

  36. bigabe4uk Says:

Did some poking around on this kid.

Here is ESPNs rating/writeup on him:
    http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=723 69&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fncb%2fr ecruiting%2ftracker%2fplayer%3frecruitId%3d72369

As you see they have him ranked 95. According to this years ratings on ESPN the guys that have a 95 grade from the 09 class rank 26-32. That means he’s a High 4 star/close to 5.

Here is what ESPN says about a 95 ranking:
    “98-100: High-major plus prospect
Player demonstrates rare abilities. He should have an immediate impact at a national program with the potential for early entry into the NBA.

    94-97: High-major prospect
Player has the potential to significantly contribute as a freshman for most national programs. He could be a three- or four-year starter and have an opportunity for all-league honors. ”

So this guy is evidently a balla. Great pick up for us.

  37. luckysw33 Says:

First post on the site-this place has become somewhat of an addiction. Thanks for all those that provide info.

  38. elliecat8 Says:

Tell me about this guys—give me the scoop

  39. Chris in Louisville Says:

not sure Harris would be my third choice to go; brings a lot of leadership, enthusiasm, and defense. I like Jorts, but he’ll be invisible next year. Would rather see him walk first (after Stewart, Williams), keep Harris on the bench.

  40. ibleedblueforUK Says:

    36. Great job at researching…I like the sound of this kid and the way he plays

  41. chucknorrisstotalgym Says:

#27- Are you the Craig’s List Killer? Posting their home # is creepy. Earth to Jreeves coming in Jreeves.

  42. tsevans28 Says:

i really don’t see why everybody says harris was good on defense. yeah he worked hard, but he still got beat off the dribble about a million times.

  43. chucknorrisstotalgym Says:

#27) need to amend- Earth to Jreeves come in Jreeves.

  44. elliecat8 Says:

Can he play next year or will he have to sit out a year?

  45. ibleedblueforUK Says:

Ya, we have to keep Harris. He is a senior leader and is big in giving prospects tours of the lodge, Craft Center, and welcoming them to Lexington. What I’m trying to say is he has helped us a lot in the behind the scenes sort of work that we don’t necessarily see.

  46. Madridista Says:

Its time to get John Wall now

  47. Briar Gates Says:

I too would like to see pictures of random hot chicks. Anyone else lurking in the bushes we haven’t heard of.

  48. jreeves5319 Says:

    YES CHUCK??

I’m here man…what do you need?

  49. BourbonCat Says:

Well, me may or may not end up being one of the best teams in the country next year but at least we’ll be the tallest!

  50. IcemanG2 Says:

Stop with the Harris crap. He’ll be here and DESERVES to be here, unless he gives it up on his own due to concussions or something.

  51. chucknorrisstotalgym Says:

Hey Matt- you said that you were going to post some pictures of hot Betty’s. Do you have any?

  52. gossie21 Says:

Don’t we need to clear some room for Dodson? Is that why an announcement won’t come until tomorrow? Should we expect to hear someone is transferring or otherwise losing a scholarship tonight?

  53. CalipariSafari Says:

Sweet!!!!! Welcome to the family Darnell.

  54. SlickRick48 Says:

This guy better a pretty damn good story, I thought we were done with JUCO players?

  55. chucknorrisstotalgym Says:

    48) So, you think it’s normal to Post the Henry’s home phone #?

  56. SaveUK Says:

#54 John Calipari has recruited and gotten some of the best players in
the country. He is a proven final four coach.

He can pick up the phone right now and get Nolan Dennis but yet he doesn’t.

    Instead he takes Darnell.

    Should’t that tell you anything

  57. jreeves5319 Says:

Dodson’s got three stars from rivals.com…ranked 34 in his position…for that year.

    Not good, not bad…

I’m still really excited about this coming year, However I doubt Wall is coming, and Matt’s dreams of a UK Fab 5 are out the door unfortunately.

  58. brownsuitblueblood Says:

    Whos out? ???? ?? ?

  59. truebluecharlie Says:

Wow! That was quicker than I thought. Way to go coach Cal!

  60. jreeves5319 Says:

    No, I don’t think it’s normal…just funny really.

I wouldn’t use and it could be wrong.

At the same time, the info is out there.

  61. jreeves5319 Says:

    I wouldn’t use [it]

  62. soup Says:

    58- my guess is patterson.

  63. catinlvl Says:

I called the number. That’s right, I called it.

And I told Mrs. Henry how stupid she was, how she needed to “step off.”

Yep. I told her to: STEP. OFF.

Said I was speaking for Matt Jones, the KSR posters, and the whole BBN, including Ashley Judd and Gov. Beshear.

  64. Thomas Beisner Says:

Gidel was spot-on with the Dodson report….not bad for a self proclaimed “football guy” haha

  65. johnnypittman Says:

Credible ‘rumorologists’ have Darnell, Wall and…Stephenson. If Cal pulls this off Fab 5 is real and Henry is a bench ‘role’ player at KU. What a bad decision on zavee’s part…

  66. SaveUK Says:

I mentioned Darnell several times on here before Gidel. Not bad
for a guy who is sitting on his couch

  67. TransyWildcat Says:

    Point of clarification:
If he already signed with Memphis, then he can’t technically
    “sign” again, right?

  68. SlickRick48 Says:

    56. I realize Cal has a great recruiting reputation, but I’m just not going to get all jacked up over signing another JUCO player.

  69. Madridista Says:

So any news on if we are going to go after Lance Stephenson

  70. Moving4Ward Says:

    54) This isn’t your typical JUCO. He’s a 6′8 SLASHA, that can play the two spot. We really need Wall

  71. soup Says:

I’m baffled by all the Lance Stevenson talk. I’d take him, but is it really going to heat up for him to UK?

  72. SaveUK Says:

#67 correct, from what I understand

  73. SlickRick48 Says:

    70. That’s what I heard about Galloway…

  74. soup Says:

67- correct. he’ll just enroll and play.

  75. johnnypittman Says:

Cal spoke to Stephenson in NYC on the day of the Jordan Brand Classic…

  76. SaveUK Says:

#69 Calipari has meet with Stephenson but I would think taking Dodson
    means no.

However, didn’t Calipari say on ESPN not long ago that he like to
    add 3 players

  77. jreeves5319 Says:

    LMAO 63…good deal. that’s what I hoping for…

    No…not really…

I actually saw it posted on a jayhawkslant.com

One guy posted it the other day with the intention of “give them a call and tell how much of a snake oil salesman Calipari is.”

I was pissed after seeing the comments that followed.

All and all I’m just pissed that these parents haven’t visited these sites…

Sure there has been a number of folks who say they don’t care if X comes, etc. but on the Kansas sites — they were dogging the family and saying that they wanted him to come to UK so they could get Lance Stephenson.

  78. SaveUK Says:

#73 but what you didn’t hear about Galloway coming to UK was he was
    a shooter because he wasn’t.

You will hear everyone who talks about Dodson say how great of a shooter
    he is.

  79. Thomas Beisner Says:

I’ve heard before the Henry to Kansas commit that Stephenson will either be at Maryland or in Europe…..but count that as just rumor and take it with a grain of salt.

  80. BayouCat Says:

34-He’s definitely channeling Ramel. Hopefully he has some of Ramel’s game. A 6-7 Ramel would be one hell of a player.

  81. soup Says:

I thought Cal said 2 or 3 and that was after Cousins and I think Soloman Hill was already in the AZ fold. But I’m thinking Wall and Bledsoe at this point. If Stevenson was worried about playing on the same team as Xavier, then he should be terrified of sharing the same lockeroom as Jodie.

  82. Xavier Henry out of the picture, enter Darnell Dodson or Eric Bledsoe? Says:

[...] Matt Jones is reporting that Darnell Dodson will commit to UK and that he in fact has been released from his Memphis LOI. I [...]

  83. SlickRick48 Says:

    78. So why did he go to JUCO? I’m not complaining about this, just trying to understand a little more of the situation.

  84. Madridista Says:

Ok so we got Darnell Dodson but we WANT Lance Stephenson.. so next year the SG and SF position will consist of Meeks,Miller,Hood,Dodson,Harris

  85. BayouCat Says:

78-BCG misused Galloway and damaged his confidence as he did with every player on the team. Galloway is talented, and you will see him do very well in Cal’s system.

  86. Madridista Says:

Darnell Dodson had 3 years of eligibility left

  87. jreeves5319 Says:

    I DON’T WANT LANCE STEPHENSON!

He referred to his kid as “an off the court issue.”

I’ll be the first guy to say that I dogged Porter throughout the season, but now he has a kid on the way and he’s stepping up to take care of everything.

I want the Cats to be great but I don’t want to go from a class act like Porter to a guy who was arrested for sexual assault and most assuredly wants to leave NYC to get away from his fatherly responsibility.

  88. KYStout Says:

    #66 Correct, you did indeed.

  89. Madridista Says:

What are you talkin about he is the #1 SF in the class who would not want him.. Calipari will straighten him up and he also will straight Cousins up as weel

  90. SaveUK Says:

#83 He was about 6′4 and a little over weight coming out of HS. He
was known has a good ball handler, good shooter, but not athletic
enough or fast enough to play at a Major D-1 school. However, he did
committ to Pitt before deciding to go the JUCO route.

Since then he has grown to 6′8 and lost weight. He is still a great scorer
and ball handler but now since he has grown 4 inches and lost a lot of weight
he much faster and looks a lot more athletic

  91. jreeves5319 Says:

    GET JOHN WALL!

  92. bigbluedude Says:

how many years of eligibility does he have?

  93. Thaxonator Says:

87- Totally agree. Lance is a head case. He would bring his attitude and screw up team chemistry

  94. Madridista Says:

Darnell Dodson has 3 years of eligibility left

  95. BayouCat Says:

Expanding on what I just said about Galloway. I still get mad every day with how he,Liggins, and Miller were poorly utilized. Let’s hope Cal can restore confidence before the season.

  96. SaveUK Says:

#87 thats what they said about Wagner and Evans, Calipari did alright
    with them wouldn’t you say?

I remember people saying the same thing about Willie Warren out of HS,
would you not want Willie Warren?

  97. soup Says:

How long til we see 30 threads on every UK website under the sun projecting rosters with this new addition. That drives me crazy.

  98. KYStout Says:

78 Grades, and then the NCAA wouldn’t let him enroll at Pitt.

  99. jreeves5319 Says:

You don’t straighten someone out…when they call their kid, “an off the court issue”…

That’s deep down selfishness that a basketball coach will never be able to fix.

Maybe a psychotherapist but not a coach of any type.

  100. johnnypittman Says:

Henry is a GREAT talent…that being said, has anyone else noticed how he has gone from #1 to 2nd team in USA Today? His family baggage is also something that I believe the KU fans have long noticed because of their long term investment in him (read their fansite posts) that would make him a prima donna…

  101. KYStout Says:

    Lance Stephenson = Shawn Kemp

  102. dcsports Says:

meeks, patterson, cousins, miller, Hood, with Dodson coming off the bench….just kidding Soup!!!!

  103. BayouCat Says:

Of course Maggs is posting a report contrary to this one.

  104. SaveUK Says:

What does him calling his kid “an off the court issue” have to do
    with playing basketball at Kentucky?

If he can come here and focus on basketball and change his attitude just
like Evans and Wagner did for Caipair, we be stupid not to take him

  105. jreeves5319 Says:

People dogged Warren, Evans, etc. for what…attitude problems or loafing…

Please be specific - I was. I don’t remember either being brought up on sexual assault charges…

  106. soup Says:

    102- lol

maggard is trying to spin it again I see…

and save, what else can we expect from a poster that posts Xavier’s home number in a thread?

  107. SaveUK Says:

#105 what does any of that have to do with playing basketball at Kentucky?

If he leaves all his past behind him in New York and gets a fresh start
at UK and is willing to listen to coach Cal and work hard.

    Then what is the problem?

  108. johnnypittman Says:

    96. Your right on the money…Bogans/Rondo were regarded the same way…wouldn’t pass on that kind of talent…101. just don’t let him room with a player that has BLING…

  109. SaveUK Says:

#105 so anyone who has some allegations or arrest you don’t like
representing Kentucky, is that correct? If so, thats fair enough

  110. Gogh Big Bleu Says:

because maybe he slaps girls and doesn’t care about his babies

  111. jreeves5319 Says:

Thanks KYSTOUT — you get my point…

    http://www.faniq.com/blog/Athletes-With-Illegitimate-Kids-The-Comprehe nsive-List-Blog-17243

Here’s a good reference for the type of guy Lance is and will be..

  112. SaveUK Says:

#111 do you like Chuch Hayes or Ravi Moss?

  113. SaveUK Says:

Ravi Moss has been arrested a few times. How do you feel about him?
I will hang up and listen to your answer.

  114. WildcatScratchFever Says:

Welcome to the Big Blue Nation, Mr. Dodson.

  115. BankSchott Says:

Here’s a little commentary on Dodson from the JUCO coach (http://w3.nbebasketball.com/index.php/darnell-dodson-readies-for-pitt -big-east/)

“He’s definitely coming back to Pitt,” says Eisele. “There’s no question. That’s a done deal.”

When Dodson does eventually get to Pitt he will have three years of eligibility left since he redshirted last season at Miami-Dade. The purpose of the redshirt was to have an extra year of eligibility at Pitt, not because he wasn’t ready physically.

“He would have made an impact at Pitt last year,” says Eisele. “When he does eventually get there, he is going to make a huge impact now. He has grown an inch since he’s been here and he’s now about 6’7 ½” or 6’8” and about 217 pounds. And just in practices, you can tell he’s a lot, lot better. He’s more athletic now and as for his shooting, forget about it. He can shoot lights out. The only thing he has to work on is his defense.”

Eisele says Dodson is best at small forward but his versatility is unquestioned. “He can play the two, the three, or the four,” he says, “and at practices last year, I even had him bringing the ball up the floor. But I think he will mostly be a three at Pitt.”

  116. BankSchott Says:

    That was from 2008, BTW.

  117. Jefferson760 Says:

I like how Maggard says Dodson’s announcement tomorrow is not true but he expects that we will hear about it in the next few hours… MM is like a 6 year old that has to have his way with everything and can never be wrong.

  118. MGH Says:

Said it before and say it again, I want NOTHING to do with Stephenson. Dodson, Wall, MAYBE another name we aren’t hearing about …. color me happy.

  119. jreeves5319 Says:

    Like I said before…

I’m sure Lance will be a great player wherever he goes.

But I haven’t sold my soul yet.

My preference would be to not have him wear blue and white for the UK Wildcats.

Having a child is a responsibility and it should have some influence on your college choice but to Lance it’s just that other stuff.

Fathering a child is not same as sporting a tattoo — which is something that plenty of the folks here hate with a passion.

  120. BankSchott Says:

Hey, let’s get off Lance’s sack.

First of all he is still in High School, and I doubt Public Speaking was offered, so managing the media and factoring in being a father are probably things he needs to get a little better at.

Maybe a change in environment will go a long way for him.

    And one other thing—

    Trust in Calipari.

Say it. Memorize it. Live it.

    Until proven otherwise…

  121. soup Says:

Maggard is trying to make it seem like he has his ear on the situation and he isn’t jumping the gun. Spin spin spin. I’ll have you remember his “Donovan to UK” jumping.

    DOUCHE!

  122. CalipariSafari Says:

How many years of eligibility will this guy Dodson have??

  123. BankSchott Says:

Dodson has 3 yrs. left, I believe.

  124. CalipariSafari Says:

    Thanks 123

  125. MEWH Says:

Willie Warren was lsst year’s John Wall. He flipped, he flopped, and finally picked a team after flirting with every girl in the bar. Evans was with his cousin when a “supposed” shooter came at them. The cousin opened fire and the rest is history. He was not charged with anything in the incident.

  126. kenan14 Says:

111 - I see where you’re coming from, but I have to disagree with your statement that “…for the type of guy Lance is and will be.”
Obviously, his actions have been questionable at best, but I think you have to give the kid a chance at school. He can get here, learn the system and grow up, realize his responsibilities and be a better person….he could turn out to be a total prima donna. I feel that it’s a bit much for us (generalizing as fans) to say that we don’t want that kid because of something they did in high school. Give them a chance to see the opportunity that they have.

  127. MEWH Says:

    115) How old is that? The guy said he’d play for Pitt after his 1 year in JUCO, his credibility is kind of shaky after that right?

  128. BankSchott Says:

That was an old article…from 2008

  129. MEWH Says:

I agree kids do stupid stuff in high school, but there is getting caught drinking, and then there is sexual assault. Not exactly the same misdeeds.

  130. Moving4Ward Says:

    http://dimemag.com/2009/04/calipari-is-going-to-lose-some-win-some/

  131. ransmith Says:

Dodson originally signed with Pitt but had to go the JUCO route.

He is reported to be quick and athletic wing player with a good perimeter jumper, plus is good as slashing to the goal, and has a good pull up game. Sounds like a good fit!

I think he will be a junior this coming season. With him UK will have some perimeter shooting dept, and a good distribution of experience.

Meeks = Senior (I expect him back)
    Junior = Dobson
    Soph = Miller
    Hood = Freshmen

  132. SaveUK Says:

Well with all the off the court problems Lance has in New York

We should reach out to the kid and give him a new start here at Kentucky
    far away from his past.

That would be the decent thing to do.

  133. CalipariSafari Says:

Dodson can’t play for Pitt. I read his info on ESPN and he cannot attend a Big East school now. He didn’t gain eligiblity through the ClearingHouse (NCAA) so he went to Miami Dade JUCO with the intent to return to PITT. ESPN grades him overall a 95 out of 100 so let’s be grateful we got him:)

  134. Moving4Ward Says:

Dodson will have three years eligibility.

  135. gossie21 Says:

    127. Dodson wanted to go back to Pitt, and probably would have, but the Big East has a rule that prevented him from going to any league school.

  136. bige Says:

As long as he can dribble and shoot. We didn’t have that combo all last year.

  137. SaveUK Says:

Calipari did go to two final fours with schools like UMass and Memphis
    because he was an idiot.

I put my faith in Calipari before I put it in what a fan says.

    Got get em Cal

  138. CalipariSafari Says:

    Xavier Who????

  139. soup Says:

Xavier? Aren’t they in the A-10?

  140. CalipariSafari Says:

So presently it looks like this:

    PG: Liggins, Galloway
    SG: Meeks, Hood, Donald Williams
    SF: Miller, Harris, Dodson
PF: Patterson, Cousins, Pilgrim, Stevenson, AJ Stewart
    C: Orton, Harrellson

That’s (15) scholarships. Two somebody’s have gotta go.

  141. MEWH Says:

We don’t need Lance, or his problems. Meeks will be back unless he plans on going to Europe. Lance doesn’t play the point, and certainly didn’t distrubute the ball in any of the games I saw. You get Wall, Hood, Dodson, Cousins, and Orton to fill all 5 positions in 1 class.

  142. soup Says:

JESUS! WILLIAMS WON’T BE ON SCHOLARSHIP!!!!

  143. SaveUK Says:

#140 Perry can’t play the four in Calipari’s style. The 4 is like
a wing player who can shoot and put it on the floor. Cousins and Pilgrim
are the best bets at the 4 because they can also defender other big men
on the other end of the court.

Miller will play some 4 as well depending on the matchups.

Dodson is probably good enough to compete with Miller for a starting spot.

  144. jreeves5319 Says:

    I can’t find the clip…but I saw it a few months ago…

Lance takes a swing at an opposing player. Not good…

Then better than that, if you guys saw the MCDonalds All American game…Lance was jawing at one of the refs after they made a call he didn’t like.

Jawing at the ref in the Micky D’s game — Really?

Add it all up and what do you get…possibly a player who needs a coach like Billy G. but not Calipari.

  145. soup Says:

Yeah, and Jamal Magloire was a saint.

  146. jreeves5319 Says:

    I’m done on that one…

GET JOHN WALL and we’ll be golden…

Don’t get him and we’ll still be a hell of a lot better than last year…which is fine by me.

But really Coach Cal if you’re listening…get Mr. Wall!

  147. Azubuikebicep Says:

#111 that link was crazy. Karl Malone impregnated a 13 year old girl? How is that not talked about more often?

  148. TheBigBooyah Says:

All-UK Yard Sale at the Blue-White game this Saturday.

  149. repsol-69 Says:

Ha…that’s funny. i just got the twitter announcement about dodson and it’s nowhere near as the headline on here

  150. repsol-69 Says:

nowhere near as exciting..thats what i meant

  151. CalipariSafari Says:

142: No need to call on the name of our mighty Lord there buddy. If you’re so sure of the Williams situation then why don’t you enlighten us with proof.

    That’s what I thought.

  152. blitzmr2 Says:

    Miller will start.

I think Galloway or Liggins may be able to get it done at the point. That being said, I don’t think Cal is going to rest the shoulders on a “may” PG.

Err, wait…DDO…Tyreke Evans…traditional PG may not be as critical in a non-traditional offense.

It’s interesting how, when it comes to 6′7″ athletes anyway, BCG and Cal are similar.

  153. blitzmr2 Says:

Copied/pasted (someone out of context) from a link posted above:

“…Wall’s confidant Brian Clifton indicated that he (Krzyzewski) laid out an incredibly impressive speech to the Wall family…”

  154. blitzmr2 Says:

By the way, Derrick Rose’s Rookie of the Year award is not going to hurt our chances with Wall–or future studs–for that matter.

  155. BPsycho Says:

#151 Is he talkin bout Donald Williams? If so then yeah hes gone everyones known that for a year. That was decided before he came here. If not then w.e :)

  156. John Meyer Says:

Matt posted this story at 4:56pm, Maggard posted “his” at 16:52pm, which equates to 4:52pm, I checked Maggard’s site(horrible I know ) after I saw this story posted by Matt, and it was no where to be seen on Magg’s site, so if it was already on this site before Maggard had it on his how did he post it before Matt? Is there time doctoring going on?

  157. jconkwright Says:

    This kid looks like R.Bradley

  158. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

Really?? We are taking a 3 star Juco when there is a 4 and 5 star high school senior waiting on us (Williams, Dennis) I mean Im sure this guy is good and all but he can’t be that much better than those two, or they would have found a way to get him qualified and playing…

    just saying….

  159. Wall2Cousins Says:

Darnell Dodsen…hmmm….were we all not blind sighted by this??? Gotta love the new coach…he has a back up plan if he doesnt get who he wants…Once John Wall signs with UK it will be Kansas and Kentucky for National Championship

  160. cohan Says:

    Dodson isn’t 3 juco player!!!
    He’s four star. He’s a 6′8 swingman who averaged
    29 points 11 rebounds 4 asists 1.3 steals 51% field goal percentage 43% 3-point percentage
Espn has him as a 95 overall player. 6th best small forward. 37th overall.

  161. whackamo Says:

That’s 14 players for 13 schollies who’s leaving and when will they make it official. Also that is 15 players if you count Williams which I don’t but I haven’t seen anything to say he won’t be on scholarship for next year. I think it is a given but I would still like to see something in print to make me feel better about the roster situation.

  162. mbmonk Says:

I am confused is he a Juco transfer or a High school senior?
    http://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key =78305

^^ that seems to suggest he is in high school. And he from in Miami where Cal was today.

  163. whackamo Says:

Also does anyone else think this kid looks like a young Ramel Bradley????

  164. rydog Says:

He’s not fooling me. I know that’s Ramel Bradley in a different uni…Ramel your time has come and gone, time to let others play for UK.

  165. lookingfor8 Says:

Ink is reporting that it is official. MJ had it right.

  166. Blueyouaway Says:

Demling reporting that Dodson’s dad says Dodson is extremely interested in UK,but a decision may not come until this weekend. Maggard also saying most likely will commit but not tonight. Channel 27 news is getting ready to have something about Dodson.

  167. Blueyouaway Says:

BTW, Do you think Roy Williams has or will try to use his ties to Obama to get Wall to UNC ? Just crossed my mind….
