Yesterday we brought you news that Larry Vaught was reporting that Daniel Orton will spend the summer in California training with “Hell’s Trainer”, Frank Matrisciano. Late last night I found out the current plan is for Patrick Patterson to also spend 8 weeks in San Francisco training as well. Patterson will be leaving UK soon to make the trip and he and Orton will spend eight weeks with the “hardest basketball trainer alive”, to get in shape and get their bodies ready for next season. Matrisciano is known for training NBA players like Gilbert Arenas and has a bit of a cult status amongst the top NBA guys. Now Patrick and Daniel will join them in the 8 week session.
Here is the link to the article on Matrisciano that we linked yesterday. I wonder if he will accept KSR bloggers as well.

We’re going to have the most bad ass team alive next season.
June 12th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
I thought Patterson spent last season with Hell’s trainer?
June 12th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
Let’s hope he doesn’t “train” them right into Gilbert Arenas’ knee problems??!!
June 12th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
Is this the 1:00 tidbit?
June 12th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
I hope this isn’t why Gilbert Arenas keeps getting injured.
June 12th, 2009 at 12:52 pm

I’m ready for someone to be a negative nancy and complain about how this means no chemistry building for the whole team as a unit, and how this now means we will lose in Cancun to Rider or Sam Houston State.
June 12th, 2009 at 12:57 pm
I thought we were going to get a juicy BCG story.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
Nothing else going on tonight.. I say we have a LIVE BLOG… anyone agree??
June 12th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
12) This may be exactly what Orton needs to push Cousins this year, and how about the chemistry that will develop between Patterson and Orton. Patterson will be the perfect player for the freshman to look up to.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:02 pm
This guy also trains Blake Griffin.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:02 pm

June 12th, 2009 at 1:08 pm
There are some rumors going around that Dominique Ferguson may be playing his senior year at Oak Hill Academy. Doron Lamb also plays there and I think we get Lamb and then he works on getting Ferguson back.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:08 pm
This is awesome to hear! I’m comin straight outta Comtpon….
June 12th, 2009 at 1:10 pm
This is funny, I vacationed in San Fran last summer and went for a run a few times at the Golden Gate Heights Park. That hill is no joke, absoulutly beautiful view but the job up and down will wear you out. It is at the top of the Mosaic steps if anybody is from the area. Funny to know Pat and Daniel will be pouring sweat out there just like me last summer. The good thing is that San Fran is very chilly July & August so no chance of heat stroke.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
21) I agree with you…. I’m confused..
June 12th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
On previous post, someone mentioned some pick up games! We need more info on that type stuff! For those bashing the white boy from Madisonville, you may not comprehend what you hear! Then again, Josh Carrier was lights out in practice! Hood can ball, yall!
June 12th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
24. Be honest, you walked it.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
Correction: the “jog” not “job” up and down will wear out…thats what she said
June 12th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
I skimmed through the article, sounds pretty cool.I expected nothing less of Patterson, but a freshman already making these strides to get better is awesome.Sounds like they will both come back in tip top shape….

June 12th, 2009 at 1:17 pm
31) the article says that his training is free for people who are not in the NBA or don’t have agents (i.e. people entering the draft)
June 12th, 2009 at 1:18 pm
I went to one of the pick up games at UK and Bledsoe scored 16 of his teams 20 points. He even had a putback slam that was better than Patterson’s vs. UofL. He came out if nowhere and skyed in for the jam. All the players were like “Damn, dat boy can fly!”
June 12th, 2009 at 1:18 pm
I think BTI needs to be sent to do live updates from Hell.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:18 pm

June 12th, 2009 at 1:19 pm

June 12th, 2009 at 1:20 pm

June 12th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
38) When is the next one…that the public can go to?
June 12th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
Both of these guys are fortunate they have the means to be able to do this. Also, if this trainer wants to be unknown, working out two UK players is a terrible idea. I’d love to know how much the rates are.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
Demling has an article about Hood and it said that he had been playin in the pick up games as well.
June 12th, 2009 at 1:21 pm

June 12th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
