France to be a little smootha this year

by @ 12:00 pm. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

As Jodie Meeks settles into his new Milwaukee home, it appears one of his former teammates is finding a new professional home as well. Our buddy Ramel Bradley has signed with French Pro A team JDA Dijon this week. Last year, Smooth went for 15 a game in Croatia (24 per game in Euro Challenge) and will probably play point for Dijon, who went 16-14 this year and just inked former Boston College player Sean Marshall. Of course, I’m only assuming this because he’s the shortest guy on the roster right now. Since my fiancee is French and I hate conflict, we’ll avoid inserting sterotypical French jokes here. Instead, we’ll just put the official press release into a google translator and let them handle the funny. Here is your translated press release:

The announcement was made official Thursday evening, at the time of the closing evening of JDA Matters to Oxygen to the Toison-d’Or, the partners being thus the first ones to know the new one. After the signatures of Sean Marshall then of Steffon Bradford Wednesday, the JDA obtained, Thursday, for a year, the one of his next leader of game. It is a matter of Ramel Bradley. Been born in 1985 to New York, Ramel Bradley that measures 1.88 m was formed to the university of Kentucky. Gone out in 2008, non-drafté, it carried, this year, the colors of Cedevita Zagreb in Croatia. At the time of this last season, with his team that finished fifth of the Croatian championship, it turned to 15.1 points to 58%, 1.8 rebonds and 2.4 pass. For the anecdote, it disputed the Eurochallenge and met hyères-toulon (27 and 21 points, 5 and 4 pass). “Philippe Sudre and me, at the time of two different camps, we already had noticed it the past year, explains Randoald Dessarzin. I had well liked this player but it went out of the university and we wished to take a confirmed player. His trainer says a lot of well of him. This is a put, positive player, able to play the two sides of the land, to defend on a leader but also on a post 2. It is scoreur, smuggler, able to adapt itself so to the required game that to a new life. Besides, the Fact that a New York of Brooklyn can adapt itself to the Kentucky proves its faculties in this domain.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking?  Was that a dig at our fine Commonwealth at the end?  Those damn, dirty Frenchmen.  Anyway, Ramel will still be playing for on the Nets summer league team, hoping to earn a spot on the hometown squad.
