I’m assuming 3:28 is referring to the sweet pass and finish. If so, this is in fact the same video. I can actually concentrate the rest of the day and not focus on what might be behind that “blocked” image.
Cousins is very skilled. He will be unstoppable in the post with the right coaching.
Hood looks good, especially on defense, but didn’t really notice anyone else. It is a pick-up games big on flash, so I don’t read too much into it.
24–Crawford is crafty with the ball. And of course he’s a gun–he’s a graduated player and in the NBA! He’s the godfather on that court! Give it a break, and have some friggin’ respect.
Here was the line up. Miller, Stevenson, Hood, Crawford and a walk on versus Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Harris and a walk on. Just 3 quick points. Crawford and Bledsoe were jawing a bit and getting physical. Wall and Hood and a friendly little game going between the two. And watch out for Miller, he is going to do exactly what he did at FIBA.
It was almost comical when Harris and Stephenson had the ball. Geez, we have been down the last few years. I commented to myself that no one could guard Wall, but honestly I’m not sure anyone is going to be able to guard him this year. “Oh Boy! This is goona be greeaaatt!”
36) Wall is the only player in Gray, with the one blue sleeve. Bledsoe is guarding Joe C. He has on a white shirt and blue shorts. He’s the one who delivers the behind the back pass to Wall on the break at the 3:20 mark or whatever it is.
37) They play after camp is over. Those are all campers seated around the court and some parents. It is pretty easy to just walk in and watch, just don’t cause a scene. Surprised they didn’t stop someone from recording.
I don’t know how these people knew about it but as far as getting in you can just walk in the door on the corner of University
and Complex during normal office hours
23- the better question is, are people like you going to piss and moan about it all year? I’m not saying you have to like it, but please spare the rest of us your whining… this is shaping up to be the first really good year in about 10 years. Please don’t try to ruin it for those of us who are just happy to have our program back where it’s supposed to be.
My thoughts…Is it me but does Wall seem unguardable? Bledsoe is built like a brick house!! Hood has a sweet stroke!! Cousins looks very fit, I thought I heard he had a weight issue. Where is Orton?
That’s bullcrap I thought freshman weren’t allowed to participate in camp, at least when I went when Tubby was coaching that was the case, otherwise I wouldve met more players.
I was equally impressed with Cousins in that video as I was Wall. I mean, the dude’s almost 7 feet tall, can handle the ball in the open floor, and can shoot from outside. :-O He’s an almost impossible matchup at the college level.
Does anyone know which former Cats/current NBAers are playing other than Joe Crawford?? I saw on this site that I think it was yesterday, that there were others, bu they weren’t named. I think it would be very interesting if we could get Rondo on come. I’d like to see a Wall/Rondo matchup!!
I thought Wall’s weakness was supposed to be his jump shot. I know they aren’t playing much D, but he only took like 3 jump shots and he was 3 for 3. Did he miss a jump shot? If he did, then I missed it too. I guess the scouts had to find some weakness, and that was the only thing they could think of. But his J looks good enough to keep his defender honest!!
That behind the back from Bledsoe to Wall for the soaring jam was just SICK! This video gave me goosebumps man!! It’s still hard to believe we have a player of Wall’s caliber here and Cousins is a man among boys out there…and WOW is he skilled!
I tracked the points on these 2 videos and the Freshmen team with Wall scored 29 points to Crawford’s team’s 19. Only 6 players scored (3 from each team). Wall lead his team with 18 points, Cousins had 9 and Bledsoe had 2. Crawford lead his team with 9 (but was very inefficient), Hood had 6 and Miller had 4.

Poor Purry Stevenson.
July 27th, 2009 at 9:49 am
That Wall kid, whoever he is, is a pretty good player
July 27th, 2009 at 9:49 am
Who’s the white guy in the yellow shirt?
July 27th, 2009 at 9:49 am
I hadn’t seen it yet, so I can’t concentrate the rest of the day with this raging sports boner
July 27th, 2009 at 9:51 am
7) looks like Porter
July 27th, 2009 at 9:52 am
where is this?
July 27th, 2009 at 9:52 am
7, CM Newton’s grandson. I’m guessing his name’s Fig.
July 27th, 2009 at 9:52 am
The guy with the ball at 3:48…is that Crawford??
July 27th, 2009 at 9:53 am
10 - That’s in the Seaton center
July 27th, 2009 at 9:54 am
12-yes, crawford is playing. Hood is lighting it up as well.
July 27th, 2009 at 9:55 am
Wall and Bledsoe…no way. Dwight Perry is the future kids…get on board!
July 27th, 2009 at 9:55 am
This video made me entirely way too excited.
July 27th, 2009 at 9:56 am
Is Miller in this video?
July 27th, 2009 at 9:58 am
I got the impression that our incoming freshmen may have a bit more talent than we’ve been used to seeing lately.
July 27th, 2009 at 9:59 am
17 - I’m pretty sure that’s miller bringing the ball up at 0:35
July 27th, 2009 at 10:06 am
Crawford is lighting it up.
July 27th, 2009 at 10:07 am
17) Yes. He’s on Crawford’s team. He doesn’t really do a whole lot in this game.
July 27th, 2009 at 10:08 am
Where is Matt Pilgrim? He is a beast. lol.
mm
July 27th, 2009 at 10:10 am
Is Cousins really gonna wear that the headband? Really?
July 27th, 2009 at 10:12 am
21 - he doesn’t do a lot because Crawford shot every time he touched the ball…or put his head down and over penetrated, just like he used to do.
July 27th, 2009 at 10:13 am
22 - that’s halarious! Jon Hood is going to be a fan favorite 2 or 3 years from now…think cameron mills
July 27th, 2009 at 10:14 am
John Wall is so good its Retarded!
July 27th, 2009 at 10:15 am
23. yes. really.
July 27th, 2009 at 10:21 am
Bledsoe is very, very strong.
Wall is, well, Wall–and his J looks good.
Cousins is very skilled. He will be unstoppable in the post with the right coaching.
Hood looks good, especially on defense, but didn’t really notice anyone else. It is a pick-up games big on flash, so I don’t read too much into it.

July 27th, 2009 at 10:34 am
Is that Bledsoe in the grey shirt with the blue sleeve?
July 27th, 2009 at 10:35 am
35) thanks man, how did all these people get to know about it & get in??
July 27th, 2009 at 10:36 am

July 27th, 2009 at 10:39 am
40 when will they play next??
July 27th, 2009 at 10:41 am
44) Probably this afternoon/tonight some time.
Even though its not a dunk, J Wall’s between the legs and spin move at the 6:30 mark may be my favorite!
July 27th, 2009 at 10:45 am
The thing I like most is Wall’s three near the end. Maybe it is just me but it looks like his form has improved.
July 27th, 2009 at 10:46 am
I’m about excited as anyone for the basketball season….but anyone have any opening game football tickets they want to sell??
July 27th, 2009 at 10:47 am

Not as good as the first, but Wall’s Dunk at the end makes it all worth it.

Yeah, I just peed myself a little
July 27th, 2009 at 11:14 am

58) with Patterson in Cali
July 27th, 2009 at 11:30 am
58. Remember it is just a pickup game and there isn’t tons of defense ou there but Wall is still ridiculous.

Cousins reminds me a bit of Antoine Walker! Wall is pretty good.
Hood is a shooter.
Can you imagine Patterson, Cousins, Orton, on the floor at the same time???
Thanks for posting.

2 questions: is Cousins our PG? He seemed to bring the ball up every time. Also, who dunked the off-the-board oop from Hood? That was ridiculous.

71) Think that was Miller…

to anyone who keeps asking who the guy in the yellow shirt is. if you actually listen the man filming says it at the beginning. he is CM Newton’s son.
