The Final Four kicks off tonight with the UCLA Championships playing the Memphis Arrest Warrants. Memphis, after struggling a bit in the first weekend of the tournament, crushed everything in its path in the second weekend, producing two quality wins and rolling into the Final Four. UCLA also handled their business on the way to San Antonio, although dispatching Western Kentucky and Xavier doesnt exactly strike fear into the hearts of most Americans. I picked UCLA to win the title at the beginning of the season and the beginning of the tournament, so I will stick with it. But of the four teams, they are likely the shakiest going into this weekend. Still, I will take Love and Collison in the end and UCLA winning 76-71.
Regardless of who you have in this game though, the videos of Kevin Love taking half court and full court shots are unbelievable. He did this last week at the regionals and did it again yesterday at practice. If you have ever tried to do this with two hands, you will realize just how strong he is. Worth checking out…..

I am so tired of UCLA — just like Matt said…beating WKU, Xavier and Texas A&M — isn’t that impressive. Think about it, if WKU doesn’t have the jitters and miss 20 out of their first 26 shots…they stay in the game and possibly win it. Big stage jitters did them in. Texas A&M gets fouled in the last 20 seconds but no call. That game could have gone into OT. Really their only decent game was against the Xavier team that had their worst game of the season…meanwhile — Memphis slaughtered Mich. State and Texas — who I might add beat UCLA at Pauley…so tell me how do folks still pick UCLA over Memphis. What matchup in the game is better for UCLA? None that I can find…The only advantage they may have is having the Refs on their side.

I just can’t cheer for the Jayhawks, Heels or Bruins. Go Tigers!!!

I’m guessing no one in L.A. knows UCLA is in the Final Four.

Matt Jones when will you learn not to pick against Memphis?
April 5th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Wow. UCLA just keeps getting posterized.

What amazes me is playgound ball will win you a championship; well one more game. Memphis get in a real conference!!! You won’t be 37-1 then!!!

UCLA got a cake walk to the final four and just got run on. Now they lose everyone to the draft. UCLA just can’t have our longevity!

I agree #6… I hate Calipari but I hate everybody else more…GO TIGER HIGH!!

This is a little more than playground ball #10. It may look helter skelter, however, what is the #1 factor to success on offense? Good screens? Great passing? Sharp Shooters? The answer to all of these is NO. SPACING is what makes an offense great and NO ONE DOES IT BETTER THAN MEMPHIS. They understand the game, watch some NBA and you will see what memphis does is not playground ball. This is the foreign influence coming into college, finally.

OK #13 but this is a one and done Memphis run Calipari, enjoy, you won’t be back to the FF

Rose dominated Collison. End of story.

What happens next??? What happened at the end of this VIDEO???
He just made the full-courter, laughs with his cronies, picks up a ball and walks down to take a LONGER SHOT!! And THAT is when the videographer decided to stop filming????????? Nice footage….bleh

Memphis is a good team but they definately have a weakness, their shooting. I don’t want UNC to win, but they have to be the favorites. As for UCLA, Kevin Love is overated. I’m eager to see what hansboro does against a beast like Dorsey. I think hansboro’s game looks week on the offensive end, but somehow his crap goes down.

I’m not upset about the game, but I was not finished with the UCLA cheerleaders.
